Week 3: American Memorial Park
Three things that I have learned from the field trip to American Memorial Park, is that Saipan was one of the first places that the United States have rescued from the Japanese Empire. Another thing that I have learned, is that many of the marine, army, and military people died, from both the Japanese Empire and from the Americans. As well as that, many islanders and Japanese citizens died because of this war. Lastly, I have learned that the museum is open to many tourists, and is filled with many preserved artifacts.
Two comments about our field trip to American Memorial Park, is that it is really interesting to learn about the islands past, and it is very eye opening to think that such a small museum, would have such information about World War 2. An unforgettable experience I had going to A.M.P, is how were they able to put so much information in such a small area? The mini museum had so much information that I never knew about, like how Saipan was one of the first lands the Americans captured, and that Japanese people actually died because the general told them to, it is so awful, that they would just die because the general told them to.
